Another Piano Recital

Here they are, playing the piano at their second recital. I think there's progress.

Riley plays a duet with his teacher, Kyle, then on his own. He messed up a little, and froze up, but if you didn't know how it was supposed to go, you'd never know. He covered it up pretty good, he played it pretty cool!

Maxine also plays a duet with her teacher, Madelyn, and on her own. She messed up a little too. But covered it up too.

I'm so glad the kids are learning to play the piano. I know they don't always like it, but I'm so proud of them!

I love Spring!!

Especially now that it has really arrived (hopefully to stay). It's so much fun to see what kind of stuff is budding and blooming in our new yard at our new house. Look how beautiful, I had always wanted a weeping Cherry tree, and now I have one. :-)

Riley's new kitty

And then there were two. Another kitty has joined our household. Bryan brought this gray tabby home from the shelter for Riley. This is a little kitty, much younger than Scout (the orange tabby). So young, she's obnoxious and cries too much for my taste! Anyways, Riley is a happy kid. For now, her name is Tiger. Not sure if that will stick, but for now. . . .

When we introduced her to Scout, she could care less about another kitty in the house, but Scout did not like her, at all! Scout was very territorial and kept hissing at the new kitty. Whenever new kitty got near Scout, Scout would hiss at her and run away. We had to keep them separated. But then today, we left the kitties home alone together (we hadn't done this yet) and came home to find them sleeping together on the chair. Go figure, hopefully they're friends now. :)

Now, to do it all again, starting on Monday (no rest for the weary). History class in four weeks, what am I thinking???

I can't believe I'm in school again!

May Day!!

Well, today is May 1. May day. While May Day is celebrated in a variety of ways in different countries, May Day is usually associated with Spring, flowers, sunshine, etc.
Well, this is how Pocatello, Idaho does May Day:

I took these pictures this morning, May 1, truly!

Yes, that is a good 5-6 inches of SNOW!!
